MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State men's basketball will lose sophomore guard Montavious Murphy to transfer, the Spring, Texas native announced via Twitter Tuesday.

Murphy averaged 5 points and 25 minutes per game in his freshman season with K-State before playing in just four contests in 2020 due to injury.

The loss of Murphy means that the Wildcats will now have lost every player from Bruce Weber's 2019 recruiting class that was originally made up of Dajuan Gordon, Antonio Gordon, David Sloan, Goodnews Kpegeol, and Montavious Murphy.

Weber and the Wildcats will enter the 2021-22 season coming off a 9-20 year in 2020, but bring back nine players from a season ago, as well as the transfer additions of Mark Smith (Missouri), Markquis Nowell (Little Rock), and Ismael Massoud (Wake Forest). The Wildcats will also add freshman Logan Landers, a 6-10 center from Wisconsin, and freshman Maximus Edwards, a 6-5 small forward from New York.
