There was a major project in 2022 involving the completion of a new roof at the Geary County Historical Museum. According to the newsletter Geary Glimmers, a Heritage Trust Fund grant was used to help replace the old wood shake roof, which was showing serious signs of age.
Work on the roof was completed in September with final touches of fascia work completed in December.
In 2023 the Historical Society is looking at reinforcing a portion of the foundation at Starcke House, located just south of the museum. The Board of Directors has voted to proceed with a contractor on the project.
