Junction City High School junior, Abigail Paskow was recognized as the JC Breakfast Optimist Club’s December Student of the Month. She is the daughter of Will and Kelly Paskow.
Abby is enrolled in the Science, Engineering and Health Academy at JCHS. She is involved in the JROTC program, Cross country, and track and is a member of the National Honor Society. Outside of school Abby is involved with the First Christian Church as a volunteer to help with the Kindergarten through fifth grade Sunday School program.
LTC (R) Richard Hodgson, Senior Adult Instructor, at JCHS stated that “Abby is well rounded and is a pleasure to work with in the JROTC program. She is an outstanding student and will most likely end the school year as the first or second highest academic performer.”
Abby’s father shared with the Optimists that “Abigail is a person of character who does the right thing. He and Kelly are truly blessed to have her as their daughter.”
Abigail stated that she plans to study construction management following graduation from JCHS. Her interest in carpentry and construction grew from working with her father on projects and being a student in the carpentry class at school.
The Optimist Club’s facilitator of the Junior Optimist International (JOI) Club at Junction City High School, Ricardo Gutierrez; JCHS Staff Representative, Dana Wiegand, and JOI Club members received nominations from high school teachers and made the selection of Abigail to be the JC Breakfast Optimist Club’s December Student of the Month. Abby received a $25.00 gift certificate from JC’s BBQ & Grill and a certificate from the JC Breakfast Optimist Club.
