Last Saturday the community came together once again for Operation Clean Sweep. Coordinator Cindy Sinklier said that this year marked the 17th annual event, with 150 volunteers helping clean up areas all across Junction City.
They picked up 2,900 pounds of trash from parks, entryways, and other public spaces. Since the event began, volunteers have helped remove more than 43,000 pounds (almost 22 tons!) of debris from around the city.
Sinklier issued a shoutout to supporters:
- First Student, Inc. – transportation
- Smithfield – sausages
- Key Office – flyers to spread the word
To all the amazing volunteers and City of Junction City employees —thank you once again for helping make Junction City a cleaner, greener place.
