The board of directors for the Flint Hills Regional Leadership Program has announced the application period for the 2026-27 class offering will take place May 15 through July 15.
Executive Director, Jack Lindquist, shared the focus for this class offering, “The Flint Hills Regional Leadership Program fosters leadership strengths centered on collaboration, adaptability, and shared purpose. Leadership modules opening each session provide models for effective team management, mentorship, and resilience. Key leadership strengths fostered include collaborative and supportive leadership, nurturing and mentorship, adaptability & strategic flexibility, high-trust communication, and purpose-driven direction.”
For each class, sessions open with a 21st Century interactive Leadership Enhancement Module, and objective targeted training. Session Objectives include: BUILDING THE TEAM and TEAM ENGAGEMENT; FINDING YOUR PURPOSE; COMMUNITY COLLABORATION; ADVOCACY; VISIONING; SERVANT LEADERSHIP; ENTREPRENEURSHIP; POLITICAL LITERACY and REFLECTION. Following graduation at the Celebration Session the class concludes active duty with a regional service project.
Qualified candidates must live within or work within the counties of Geary, Morris, Pottawatomie, Riley and Wabaunsee, or Fort Riley. Sessions for the selected class members are held throughout the region with Orientation beginning at Rock Springs Ranch and the Junction City Session in early September. The remaining eight sessions follow, generally every three weeks, with graduation in February. The schedule is posted on the “Apply” menu of www.fhrlp.org. Candidates must commit to attending all sessions. The link also allows online application and includes uploading a pre-recorded 1-3 minute introduction video to serve as a virtual interview.
