JUNCTION CITY, Kan. – Geary County Schools USD 475 announced that Washington Elementary physical education teacher, Cameron Augustine, has been named a finalist for the 2026 Kansas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance Elementary Physical Education of the Year award.
Augustine, who began teaching in the district in 2024, is in his first-year teaching at Washington after previously making a difference in PE at both Grandview Elementary and Milford Elementary. He is also an assistant boys’ basketball coach at Junction City High School.
The KAHPERD Elementary Physical Education of the Year award recognizes outstanding K-5 physical educators for high-quality instruction and leadership. If Augustine is selected in the upcoming weeks as the 2026 winner, he will be recognized at the 2026 KAHPERD State Convention in October.
