Clarksville, Tenn. – The magic continues in Tennessee. Barton Community College, playing as the No. 6 seed at the NJCAA Div. I National Volleyball Championships, opened the tournament Wednesday with a 3-0 sweep against Navarro (Texas). Thursday evening, the Cougars followed that with a 3-0 win against No. 14 seed Indian Hills to advance to the national semifinals for the first time since 2003.
One day after taking down No. 3 seed New Mexico Military Institute in the opening round, Indian Hills fell short to the Cougars. 25-21, 25-14, and 25-16.
In the other semifinal, No. 2 seed Miami-Dade needed five sets to dump No. 10 Missouri State-West Plains. Barton (33-2) will take on Miami-Dade at 7 p.m. Friday.
