Former 1st Infantry Division and Fort Riley commander, Gen. William Hartzog died this past Monday at the age of 79. According to information posted on social media by Fort Riley, Hartzog commanded the Big Red One and Fort Riley from 1991-1993. He went on to lead U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command.
