RILEY COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just after 10a.m. Saturday in Riley County.
A 2015 Nissan Altima, driven by Bimel Kanti Paul, 76, of Manhattan, struck Edward Thompson, 82, of Manhattan, while in a crosswalk near the 400 Block of Poyntz Avenue in Manhattan, according to the Riley County. Police Department activity report.
After impact, Ed Thompson then fell into Susan Thompson, 82, of Manhattan.
EMS transported Edward Thompson to Via Christi for treatment of minor injuries. Paul was issued a citation for failure to yield right of way to pedestrians in the crosswalk.
