Change of Command is observed at Irwin Army Community Hospital

Col. Edgar Arroyo is the new commander of Irwin Army Community Hospital at Fort Riley. He succeeds Col. Theodore Brown, who relinquished command on Friday.

According to a Hospital social media post, during his two and a half years of command Brown led a team that achieved milestones ranging from accreditation of the the hospital by The Joint Commission to accreditation of the Ft. Riley Public Health Department by the Public Health Accreditation Board - the first in the Department of Defense. Brown now goes to his next assignment with the U.S. Army Human Resources Command at Ft. Knox, Kentucky.

Prior to his arrival at Ft. Riley, Arroyo was assigned to U.S. Army Medical Logistics Command in Ft. Detrick, Maryland. During is career he has served in various medical service leadership positions and has deployed in support of operations overseas. From 2015-2017 he served as commander of the Raymond W. Bliss Army Health Center in Ft. Huachuca, Arizona.
