Kelta Louise Cooper

 Kelta Louise Cooper (Tracy), a resident of Village Manor of Abilene, KS passed away November 25, 2023 at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita Kansas.

Kelta was born March 10, 1935, in Worthington, Ohio. Her parents were Edwin Leroy and Kathryn Adeline Rush Tracy.  Kelta graduated from Columbus High School Class of 1953. She married James Smith Cooper on October 24, 1953 and moved to Chapman, Kansas area that same year.

Kelta was a homemaker and a cake decorator. She decorated numerous wedding, birthday and special event cakes. She also had worked at Dairy Queen in Junction City and made the famous Ice Cream cakes. Kelta was a wonderful wife and a loving and caring mother to her children.  Kelta loved to fish and garden and dance. She loved to sing Christian songs with her grandchildren at churches and nursing homes.

She is survived by her daughters Kathryn Mary Norton of Junction City, KS, Connie Sue Krier, Chapman, KS, Vicki Lynn Welsh of Chapman, KS and Twyla Kay LaRocca (Vince) of Chapman, KS Kelta is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Husband James Smith Cooper, her parents and a brother Edwin Leroy Tracy Jr., One son James L. Cooper a granddaughter Maggie Price, and a grandson Levi Norton.

A family visitation will be held November 30th at 6:00 p.m. at the Londeen-Overlease Chapel 206 W. 6th Street in Chapman, KS Funeral services will be held at the Londeen-Overlease Chapel December 1 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Sutphen Mill Cemetery Rural Chapman.
