Junction City Manager Allen Dinkel has confirmed for JC Post that six staff members of the Junction City Police Department have been put on administrative leave. It is a personnel issue so Dinkel did not name any of the staff members.
The city manager noted that complaints have been received about a hostile workplace. An outside firm is conducting an investigation and is talking to all police department employees. Dinkel expects to make a partial announcement on the matter in one or two days.
The city manager also made it clear that there's no reason to believe it's criminal.
Dinkel released a statement from the City on the matter. "The City takes concerns reported by its personnel seriously and is working to gather information to respond appropriately. City policy requires confidentiality to the maximum extent possible under the circumstances. Accordingly, we are unable to provide any details at this time.
