Blue Jay boys will send ten wrestlers to state

Ezekiel Witt of Junction City won the 106 pound weight class competition at the Class 6A Regional Wrestling Tournament. He turned in the top finish for the Blue Jays at the regional and qualified for state scheduled this Friday and Saturday at Hartman Arena in Park City.

Others qualifying for state and their weight classes included:

113 Yoel Padilla, 120 Zac Petrusky, 132 Kayden Blake , 138 Patrick Foxworth , 145 Anthony Petrusky , 152 Aiman Strickland, 170 Logan Nabus, 182 Cooper Bogenhagen, and 220 Judah Peterson. One member of the Lady Jay team Charly Goodwin, qualified on the 12th for the girls Class 6A State Tournament that is scheduled this  Wednesday and Thursday at Hartman Arena in Park City. Goodwin will wrestle in the 120 pound weight class.

In the boys regional Yoel Padilla finished 8th at 113 pounds, Zac Petrusky 5th 120, Kayden Blake 5th 132, Patrick Foxworth 3rd 138, Anthony Petrusky 7th 145, Aimin Strickland 8th 152, Logan Nabus 5th 170, Cooper Bogenhagen 3rd 182 and Judah Peterson 6th 220 pounds.

Washburn Rural won the boys regional team title with 205 points while Junction City finished seventh with 140. Manhattan finished fourth with 193 points.
