TOPEKA, Kan.— The Junction City Lady Jays fell to Topeka Seaman Wednesday night, 40-29.

A cold shooting night doomed the Lady Jays from the start. They fell behind by as many as 13 points in the game, and could never recover. In the game, JCHS shot 9/36 for 25%.

In the third quarter, they closed the gap to as little as five, but the Lady Vikings would push back and create space between the two teams once again.

Junction City got 12 points from Mellana Davis, 10 from Lucy Rivera, and 6 from Ava Deguzman in the loss, which brought Junction City's record to 5-11 on the season.

The Lady Jays will be back in action on Friday night against Topeka West from the Capitol City at 6 p.m.
