The process is beginning to eventually renovate the locker rooms at the Bradley Gym at St. Xavier School. Shawn Augustine, Principal, said that they're the original locker rooms from the early 1960's. Mechanical and aesthetic improvements are being planned. "There's just a lot of updating that needs to be done, in particular just more for dividers in the showers, just things to make it a little bit better overall for athletes."
Fundraising is beginning for the project. Architectural drawings are being done. "Our next step will be to start fundraising to at least get the girls locker room done first and when that's completed move to the boys locker room." Augustine noted that just to fix one side will cost more than $180,000 because of the mechanical upgrades that will be required.
Augustine noted that when the annual fundraiser auction for the school occurs ( in the spring ) that will be another way for people to come in and see what the locker rooms currently look like and the improvement goals. " We would appreciate anybody's support that's wanting to give toward this great cause to improve the campus here."
