There will be free blood pressure checks during an upcoming hypertension awareness drive on Oct. 29 at 1215 South Washington, Junction City. There will be guest speakers during the 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. event.
Participants will be able to learn what steps to take, how to end disease and the safety measures to take. Sponsors include VFW Post 8773, Fayum Temple #209, Phi Xi Chapter, Omega Psi Phi, Inc., Detta Sigma Theta and University of Kansas Medical.
