Downtown beautification efforts took a step forward Saturday morning. as Phyllis Fitzgerald&nbsp; was joined by approximately 50 people preparing flower beds for the Blueville Nursery's upcoming planting of annuals and perennials. 

Fitzgerald said among those participating were Soldiers and family members from C, 1-16 Infantry, veterans, Intrust Bank, Lions Creek 4-H club, Soldier Recovery Unit Ft Riley, cake Artist, high School students, middle school students, Junction City Parks, JC Military Affairs Council Director, friends and the mayor.
