Jay E. Kramer, 95, died December 28, 2020 in Salina. He was born May 21, 1925 in Clay County, the son of John and Esther (Bruns) Kramer. He grew up in the Longford area and graduated from Longford Rural High School in 1942. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII. Jay married Betty Lou Beals on May 16, 1948 and she preceded him in death on May 20, 2006. The couple farmed in the Longford area until moving to Emporia in 1984, where Jay worked as a mail carrier. They later returned to Longford and he continued to work as a mail carrier in Longford and Abilene. He also worked as a bus driver. Jay is also preceded in death by his parents, brother, Wesley Kramer and sister Sarah Wimberly.
Jay was a member of the Oak Hill Presbyterian Church where he served as a church Elder. He was also a member of the Longford American Legion and the Longford Lions Club.
