RCPD arrests convicted drug dealer in shooting investigation

RILEY COUNTY– On January 15, 2025, officers with the Riley County Police Department (RCPD) executed a search warrant in the 2000 block of College Heights Road as part of the investigation into the shootings that occurred on the evening of November 30 and the early morning hours of December 1, 2024, according to a media release from the RCPD.

The search warrant led to the arrest of Jessica Miller, 42, of Manhattan, on requested that include Perjury (Testify to statement as per KSA 53-601) – 10 counts;  Endangering a child – 1 count;  Violation of the Offender Registration Act (1st conviction) – 9 counts;  Possession with the intent to distribute marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school (25 grams < 450 grams); Possession of marijuana; Distribute or possess with intent to distribute drug paraphernalia for illegal use; Use/possess with intent to use drug paraphernalia; Possession of a controlled substance (per KSA 65-4105(h))

This search and subsequent arrest are significant developments in the investigation, which remains active and ongoing.
