With holiday travel beginning to increase, Chief of Police Kirt D. Nichols offers the following safety message. “As we enter the holiday season and begin to see travel increase, I want to remind everyone in our community to make seat belt use a priority. This time of year brings heavier traffic and a higher risk of crashes, and something as simple as buckling up can prevent serious injuries and save lives.

Whether you are driving across town or heading out to visit family, take a moment to ensure every person in your vehicle is properly restrained and that children are secured in the correct car seats or boosters. Your safety and the safety of your loved ones depends on it. Please drive responsibly, stay alert, and buckle up every trip, every time. I want everyone in Junction City to enjoy a safe and healthy holiday season.”
