Waltraud "Wally" Madacs

Waltraud “Wally” Madacs, 85, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2025. Wally was born May 14, 1940 in Obeuenbach, West Germany to Walter and Klane Karl, and immigrated to the United States in 1972, then settled in Abilene In 1973.

Wally was the lead at Tony’s and worked for SRS as a Home Health Aid. In 1996 she became the co-founder of Wally’s Home Health, Family Care Home and Whispering Timbers of Solomon.

Wally retired in 2010, She loved to garden and travel and was an active Christian all her life. She was preceded in death by her husband Kalman Madacs; sons, Thomas Madacs and Marcus Madacs, son-in-law Douglas Londeen; and a brother-in-law Heinrich Gries.

Wally is survived by daughter Birgitte Mager, grandson Michael Mager, and great grandsons, Michael and Noah and Friend Alex Lee; daughter-in-law Amy Madacs, grandchildren, Alex and Benjamin Madacs and Rachel Madacs Johnson; and great-grandchildren , Olivia, Felix, Gracey, Gellamy and Soldier Madacs. Other survivors include her sister, Tonie Gries of Germany, sister-in-law Rita Karl of Germany.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday July 9, 2025 at the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home. Her final resting place will be in the Prairie Mound Cemetery near Solomon.
