Jackie L. Johnson, 78, of Junction City, Kansas died on Tuesday, May 06, 2025 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Second Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Larry Jones officiating and Pastor Byron White delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow the funeral at Highland Cemetery. Following the committal service, the repast will be served at the Life Center at the New Church of the Living God 1315 W. Ash Street Junction City, Kansas.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 26, 2025 at Johnson and Mass-Hinitt Funeral Home. Masonic Blue Lodge #107 will conduct services following the visitation.
Jackie was born on March 29, 1947 in Junction City, Kansas to Jack and Leola Johnson. He graduated from Junction City High School with the class of 1966. He attended Emporia State Teacher's College and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Jackie was employed by Kansas State University for 24 years. He worked in the Electrical Shop as a supervisor at Dykstra Hall in Manhattan, KS.
Jackie was married to Glinda Tipton on October 26, 2008 at Second Missionary Baptist Church in Junction City, Kansas.
He was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church. He served on the Trustee Board, Diaconate Board, as a Laymen and the Audio Ministry.
Jackie was a past and or present member of many fraternal organizations; Kaw Blue #107, Nathan W. Thatcher Consistory #107, Knights Templers- Holy Cross #7, York Rites, Scottish Rites, Gustave L. Gray Chapter #93, Fayum Temple #209 and Turtles; the community organizations he belonged to included, I.C.A.R.E., Martin Luther King Committee and the Relay For Life.
Jackie loved to Bar-B-Que and travel in his spare time. He enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Alaska, Bahamas, Paradise Island, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Grand Cayman Island and the Grand Canyon. If he was not on his grill on 18th & Washington, he was on the road with his wife. Jackie enjoyed traveling and lived a happy and joyful life.
Jackie is survived by his wife, Glinda of Junction City, Kansas; daughters, Angela Jackson, Jacqueline and Leola Johnson of Junction City, Kansas, Marsha Turner of Madison, Tennessee; one son, Donald McDaniel (Michael McDaniel) of Chandler, Arizona; grandchildren, Jose and Charles Johnson-Pagan of Junction City, Kansas, Patrick Johnson of Junction City, Kansas, Makaila and Maliek Johnson of Manhattan, Kansas, Jerome and Jaden Johnson of Junction City, Kansas, Demetrius Harvey and Jazell Ross of Junction City, Kansas, Tan III, Glendyn and Patrick Turner all of Madison, Tennessee. Great-Grandchildren: Aryanna, Jeremiah and Ke'Shawn Johnson-Pagan of Junction City, Kansas, Sarai and Kartier Johnson of Manhattan, Kan

He also had a host of close family members, foster brothers and sisters and friends who he loved dearly.
