Victor Duwane Leadón was born in Junction City, Kansas on June 16, 1964. He transitioned on March 8, 2024, in Denver, Colorado.

Victor gave his life to God at a very young age. He was baptized at Macedonia Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio. He put God and family first in his life."Vic" as he was called by family and was known as "Tito" by his high school friends which later became Victor. He loved to have a good time and he loved to laugh. You knew Vic by his laughter. He loved his family and was proud of the fact that he was from "Kansas." He would let you know "I'm from Kansas!" if you thought he was from anywhere else. He loved sports and played baseball from elementary to high school. He loved all Kansas teams from college to professional basketball and baseball. The one team that took precedence for him were his "Chiefs!" Like his grandfather, who he was fortunate to have worked side by side with in Junction City, Kansas, Vic had a strong work ethic. Like his grandfather, Vic was a hard worker. Working was an important part of Vic's character. His fondest memories were the times he spent in Junction City with his grandparents. He also enjoyed working for the City of Denver as an employee of Parks and Recreation. He took joy and pride in landscaping the city that he and his crew did around the city of Denver. Although he enjoyed his work, his favorite pastime was being with his family and friends, laughing and sharing conversations. He was like his grandfather, James McQuiller, as he never met a stranger. He was friendly, outgoing and did not speak unkind words about other people. He will be missed by all who were fortunate to have known this kind and wonderful man. To know Vic was to love him.

Those left to cherish Vic's memory and mourn his loss include his mother and father, Doris and Anthony Jeffries of Colorado; sisters, Beverely Leadón and Dr. Denise Leadón both of Colorado; two daughters, Raychele Napue and Sarai Collins; nieces, Natasha Leadón, Adriana (Christopher) Leadón-Baird, Selasia Leadón Vita, Libya Leadón Vita, Omolara Leadón Vita and Ophelia Baird; nephews, Langston Baird and Solomon Baird, all of Colorado; uncles, James Howard McQuiller of Kansas, Frenchy McQuiller of Georgia, John (Pat) McQuller of Missouri, Volley McQuiller of Georgia and Carl McQuiller of Kansas; and a host of cousins he loved and adored along with other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Ida McQuiller; aunts Floradean Blanton, Pat McQuller, Lavon Jackson, and Shirley Gardenhire.
