Robert Laster is seeking a seat on the Junction City Commission.

Laster is a retired teacher and coach who spent 34 years as a head varsity wrestling coach at Junction City High School. If elected he wants to focus on infrastructure including Grant Avenue and the rest of the community.

Laster said he has good decision making skills. "I would be using a common sense appproach." He also said you can't do anything by yourself. "Coming from a team concept that I've grown up in I realize that I am going to have to work on collaboration skills with the community."

He noted if Junction City is looking for that type of person, understanding transparency and being a teacher and coach, then people should vote for him.

Other candidates for city commission include Terry Butler, Sam Yoskowitz, Joe Markley, Kelly Niemczyk and Jim Germann. Three seats are up for election. The election is November 4.
