USD 475 Communications Coordinator
Monday night, Dr. Reginald Eggleston, USD 475 Superintendent of Schools, recognized exemplary students with the 3R Award. The award is given to students who demonstrate excellence in the areas of respect, responsibility and building positive relationships. Earning recognition were Ruth Kim (Fort Riley Middle School), Zyrel Dela Cruz (Junction City Middle School), Lillian Hayworth (Junction City Middle School), Emmy Cummins (Lincoln Elementary) and Abigail Sparbanie (Morris Hill Elementary).
Other awards were presented including a Purple Star Certificate of Recognition to Fort Riley Middle School, Junction City Middle School, Morris Hill Elementary and Lincoln Elementary for demonstrating a major commitment to supporting students and their families connected to the United States military.
Eisenhower Elementary teacher McKenzie French was honored on for being named the USD 475 nominee for the Kansas Horizon Award Program. Spring Valley Elementary early childhood teacher Kelsey Mann and Fort Riley Middle School math teacher Sara Elliott were also recognized in front of the board for being the district’s nominees for the Kansas Teacher of the Year.
