Geary County Commissioners have approved a one-year moratorium on the acceptance, processing and approval of certain applications for alternative energy facility and data center development.
County officials want the moratorium until factual information can be obtained on how they want to move forward, whether it be incorporating that into zoning regulations, banning them or how to proceed.
Data centers assist with IT storage and processing of information for digital services.
