Students qualify for JAG K-State Career Development Conference

USD 475 has announced that it was a banner weekend for the Junction City High School and H.D. Karns JAG-K programs at the Region 2 Career Development Conference as they qualified a total of 19 students for the JAG-K State Career Development Conference on March 20 in Hays.

As a team, the JCHS two program placed first overall in Topeka, while H.D. Karns claimed second-place honors out of 14 teams. Other highlights included junior Noah Maldonado being named the Region 2 president, while sophomore Jaden Exantus was elected the Region 2 vice president. By placing in the top-3 at regionals, students will now have a chance to qualify for nationals later this month as the top-two placers at the state conference in each division will represent USD 475 in St. Louis, Mo., on April 18-22.
