The JC Breakfast Optimist Club donated to I.C.A.R.E. on Match Day.
Vickie Bobbitt, Executive Director of the intergenerational Clearinghouse and Resource Education Center, shared information about the work her organization does with older adults and youth in our community. I.C.A.R.E. has also played an important role in providing physical activity equipment at 5th Street and Coronado Parks, which may be used by young and senior citizens and collaborated with Live Well Geary County to assist people with growing their own vegetables in a community garden space

Officer Eddie Torres, represented the Junction City Police Department's Shop With A Cop program and received a $200.00 donation from the JC Breakfast Optimist Club. Shop With A Cop is a joint program with Local Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA's) , who take youth who have been designated by their school's administration as being in need and would benefit from having an experience purchasing a Christmas gift for themselves at Wal-Mart.
The shopping usually follows a breakfast and social time with LEA's, which helps promote positive relationship
