
A wind advisory is in place for the Flint Hills from noon Thursday through 7 p.m. Friday, the National Weather Service in Topeka said.
Winds are expected to pick up through the day, sustained at 20 to 30 mph and gusting as high as 50 mph. The high temperature Thursday is expected to be in the low- to mid-70s.
There is a 20 percent chance of rain or thunderstorms after 10 p.m., the NWS said.
Strong wind will continue through the weekend, the NWS said. A high near 70 is expected Friday, falling to around 60 on Saturday. On Sunday and Monday, the high temperature is predicted to be in the mid- to upper-70s.
