Junction City, Kansas — The Junction City Main Street Market and the Geary Community Farmers Market leadership team is inviting community members, vendors, and downtown visitors to participate in a brief public survey to help guide the future of the market. Due to a change in property ownership and planned development, the farmers market will no longer be able to operate at its current location after September 2026.
Market leadership is now evaluating potential downtown locations for the 2027 season and beyond and are seeking community input as part of the planning process. Market leadership is partnering with Eileen Horn Strategies to provide strategic guidance and support decision-making through a grant opportunity funded by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Pathways to a Healthy Kansas initiative. The survey takes approximately five minutes to complete and asks participants to share their thoughts on accessibility, parking, product mix, amenities, and other factors that contribute to a successful market experience.
Feedback from shoppers, vendors, residents, and visitors will help inform future decisions. Kalie Kipp, Market Manager, explained “The farmers market brings people together while increasing access to fresh, local food and creating opportunities for businesses to grow. As we look to the future, we're committed to finding a location that continues to support those connections and serve our community for years to come.”
