The biggest event of the year for the Geary County Historical Society, called History Alive, will be held Saturday at the Spring Valley Historic site on the west side of Junction City. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Activities will range from participation by historic reenactors to log cabin tours and hands-on demonstrations.
Director of the Historical Society, Heather Hagedorn, called it a reenactment weekend. "This year we're welcoming over 50 reenactors to the site. "
There will be tipis, a historic church service and examples of pioneer life to view and learn about history. The event is open to the public.
A $5 donation is suggested for admission. Concessions will be available.
