Mary Scharlotte Knitter, 82 died March 13, 2021 in Leonardville, KS. She was born on June 11, 1938 in Clay Center, the daughter of Jacob and Mary Frances (Gunter) Lewis. Scharlotte was raised in the Morganville community and was a graduate of Morganville High School Class of 1957. She married Joe Knitter on December 15, 1957. They farmed in the Morganville area and Scharlotte worked as a nurse’s aide. Scharlotte then took the job of dietary manager for Clay County Hospital, retiring after 31 years. Joe preceded her in death on November 7, 2014. She was a member of the Morganville United Methodist Church, Red Hat Society and Morganville EHS.
