Planning for the second annual Freedom Fest JC is ahead of one year ago at this time. The Fourth of July celebration is scheduled June 30-July 4, 2023 in downtown Junction City.
Bob Story, Freedom Fest Co-Chair, noted that there will be a kickoff party on Friday, June 30th with local bands. "Saturday, Sunday, Monday will be what I consider bigger nights. That's kind of how we're trying to focus. And then on the Fourth of July, the patriotic day.
There will be fundraisers for the celebration including the return of the Mudd Bogg and possibly a Donkey Ball baseball game at Rathert Field.
Freedom Fest officials are trying to look at possibly headliner entertainment on Saturday and Monday during the celebration.
