Geary County Fish & Game Association will have their general membership meeting on Monday, Dec. 11. They will begin eating at 6:00 p.m. in the Main Building at Sportsman’s Acres. This will be followed by a short business meeting including our election of Officers and Directors as well as voting on our Constitution and By-Laws proposed changes.
By current reading of those documents, They MUST have in-person voting and MUST have a quorum present in order to conduct a legally binding vote. They will also be holding their annual election of officers nad two director positions.
These documents that govern the functioning of our organization had not been reviewed for a number of years, 1998 for the Constitution and 2007 for the By-Laws. A lot has happened in the last 25 years and while they are still a vibrant organization with a membership of over 180, daily lives and the world around us have changed it is important that the functioning of GCF&GA keeps up with those changes. After almost two years of reviewing our existing documents your Board of Directors is putting forth for your consideration and vote what we hope are revisions that will work for us now and into the future.
The proposed revisions were distributed to all members over a month ago either via e-mail or postal mail, and your officers and board have been available for questions/concerns since then.
The evening will also include a chili feed and chili competition at 6 p.m. followed by the vote vote in the business meeting portion of the evening which will begin at 7:00 p.m.
