Kansas State University Update:

KSU President Richard Linton informed the Manhattan City Commission Tuesday that as of Sept. 2 enrollment at K-State totaled 21,182, third highest in the history of the university. The final number is expected to go a little higher in October than now.

That current number is higher than three years ago when it was just above 18,500. 

Checking some other K-State numbers:

--Research funding increased by 21.55%, highest in KSU history.

--Another in all time K-State history was $150.4 million in legislative funding

--Seven facility ribbon cuttings are planned on the K-State campuses this year ( Manhattan, Salina and Olathe )

--Fundraising totaled $296. million

--There are 1,000 new alumni association members

--The women's basketball team reached the NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen

K-State is approaching a goal of 30,000 students - learners including 23,000 to 25,000 degree seking learners and 5,000 to 7,000 certificate seeking learners.

Students from 95 Kansas counties and 43 states or territories attend KSU.

Princeton Review gave the university rankings of number one for friendliest students to number two for best quality of life.
