The current Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce lease at 222 West 6th Street expires on Dec. 31 of this year. But on Thursday the Chamber Board spproved a new six-month lease beginning January 1 at the same location.

The Chamber currently pays $2,000 per month but under the new lease that amount will increase To $4,000 per month. There will be a task force formed to spend those six months trying to figure out what might work as a possible location for both the Chamber and nearby CVB.

The Board learned that officials had been working to try and purchase a business building on North Washington Street but that didn't work out. During the meeting vacant space in the basement of the Municipal Building was also mentioned as a possible location, but no action was taken.
