The Geary County Historical Society annual Ice Cream Social is set for Saturday, September 16th. The event will be at 530 N. Adams Street and will be from 11:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
This year they are combining everything you love about the Ice Cream Social: live music, homemade pie and ice cream and a competitive cake walk (musical chairs style), with everything you love about their monthly STEAM Saturday programs! Make your own musical instruments to play along with the bands or engineer a solar oven, and then cool off with an ice cream treat. It's the perfect way to spend a Saturday!
Performers for the event include: Junction City High School Orchestra, Junction City High School Jazz Band, and Kansas Brigade Band. Cash is suggested for this event. All proceeds support the Geary County Historical Society.
The Ice Cream Social is sponsored by Dillons and Smithfield. STEAM Saturday is sponsored by United Way of Junction City & Geary County.
