The Lady Jay Tennis team competed in the Topeka West Invite on Tuesday. Twelve teams competed in the event. The Lady Jays had a tough start with first round losses, but then rebounded the rest of the day to only lose two more matches. As a team, the Lady Jays went 6-6 in their matches for the day. This included winning three of their two of three set matches and taking their other final match to a third set supertiebreak.
Individually, the #2 singles and doubles events led the way for the Lady Jays. Both finished 2-1 on the day and in 9th place. Rachel Cho played the #2 singles spot and Hannah Ratts and Grace Harris teamed up to play the #2 doubles spot. In the top singles spot, Abby Ratts went 1-2 on the day. Stephanie Stanislow and Avery Jacobsen teamed up in the top doubles position to also finish 1-2.
The Lady Jays next compete in the Centennial League Tournament on Monday, October 4. Matches will be held at the Kossover Tennis Center in Topeka and begin at 9 am.
