Geary County Rural Fire Chief Garry Berges reported this week that his department had responded year to 66 fires in July, down from 88 one year ago at this time. There were eight fires in July of this year including one building fire at a Skiddy Road location. A barbecue grill caught fire to the inside of a garage causing about $85,000 damage.
Berges delivered his report to the Geary County Commission.
