Junction City, KS – During the week of September 26th – 30th United Way of Junction City Geary County will conduct its annual “Business Blitz Week” for the 2022-2023 campaign. United Way board members and community volunteers will be contacting local businesses to pick up contributions toward our campaign goal. Local businesses are asked to make a donation or pledge and challenge other businesses to also contribute to United Way. During the following week, KJCK radio will be reporting daily updates recognizing pledges or donations from these generous, community minded businesses. If a donor wishes to remain anonymous or if they wish to have a message displayed, please indicate.
The purpose of the Business Blitz is to motivate the business community to make their contribution in the early stages of the campaign and in return to receive some public recognition for their support. It also helps to encourage other businesses to become participants in this community wide effort to provide the services we have all come to depend on.
United Way contributions will help fund specific programs within our partner agencies in the Junction City-Geary County, Chapman and Enterprise areas in 2023. These agencies include CASA of the 8th Judicial District, the Crisis Center, Geary County Food Pantry, Girl Scouts, JC Family YMCA, Kanas Legal Services, the JC Pacesetters (our local Special Olympics Team), Salvation Army, and Pawnee Mental Health Services. In addition to our partner agencies, United Way of Junction City/Geary County provides programs like VITA (free tax prep for low-income), Day of Caring (basic yard work for elderly and disabled), Stuff the Bus, Adopt-A-Backpack, and Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
