Geary County Emergency Management Director is honored

Geary County Emergency Management Director Garry Berges has been presented with the Life Member Award from the Kansas Emergency Management Association.

During a presentation at the Geary County Commission meeting on Monday it was noted that over time Berges has given a great deal to the Association. He has been a member of the Association since 2001, is considered a fixture with the organization and is a past president.

Keith Ascher, Geary County Commissioner, praised Berges by calling him the best grant writer that the County has ever had. He also noted that Berges  was constantly trying to improve facilities and staff.
