Nick Heath started in center field for the Kansas City Royals in their 13-2 win over the Chicago Cubs Thursday evening at Kauffman Stadium.

During the game Heath doubled and knocked in a run, drew a walk, scored a run and made the final put-out with a catch on the warning track in the ninth inning. Heath is a 2012 graduate of Junction City High School.

Whit Merrifield, Maikel Franco and Jorge Soler homered in the win. Soler and Salvador Pérez each had three hits and two RBIs, helping Brad Keller to the win in his first major league appearance in nearly a year. Keller, who opened the season on the injured list after testing positive for the coronavirus, struck out seven in five scoreless innings. Kansas City finished with a season-high 18 hits.
