MANHATTAN — Kansas State University student Caden Stirtz, Liberty, Missouri, has been awarded an ASHRAE international award, the Henry Adams Scholarship, for the upcoming academic year.

Stirtz, a junior in the GE Johnson Department of Architectural Engineering and Construction Science, will receive the $3,000 scholarship for 2021-22.

The scholarship is available to undergraduate students enrolled full-time in a postsecondary educational institution and pursuing a Bachelor of Science or engineering degree in a course of study traditionally seen as a preparatory curriculum for the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning profession.

ASHRAE is a global society advancing human well-being through sustainable technology for the built environment. The society and its more than 56,000 members worldwide focus on building systems, energy efficiency, indoor air quality, refrigeration and sustainability.
