On Sunday Deputies responded to Old Highway 40 and S. Milford Lake Road in reference to a single vehicle injury accident. James B. Corbin of Chapman, KS was traveling southbound on S. Milford Lake Road in his Nissan Titan when he was distracted by a canine inside the vehicle.
Corbin approached the intersection of S. Milford Lake Road and Old Highway 40 traveling too fast to safely negotiate the turn. Corbin turned westbound onto Old Highway 40 lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle rolled into the north ditch and came to rest on the roof. Corbin was transported to Stormont Vail by ambulance for medical treatment.

In the early morning hours Monday Deputies noticed a vehicle traveling west bound in the 500 block of West 7th street with no taillights. Deputies attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle. The vehicle fled and crashed at the intersection of N Webster street and 13th Street.
The vehicle was found to have been stolen from the 500 block of West 7th street just prior to the traffic stop. The vehicle was a White 2017 Dodge Journey. The unknown driver of the vehicle fled the scene. The vehicle was towed by Bud’s Wrecker service. This case is still under investigation.
