Geary County Rural Fire Department Director Garry Berges reports that a lightning strike about 6:30 .m. has resulted in the loss of power in Milford for an estimated 8-12 hours.
Lightning struck a power pole inside the substation serving Milford. Evergy must replace the pole to restore electricity.
There were not any injuries.
