Jeff Underhill will continue as mayor

Junction City Commissioners have voted to elect Jeff Underhill to serve as mayor for the coming year. It will be his third consecutive term as mayor. He first assumed that office in 2020. "It was the COVID year so I think I kind of missed out on the experience or the leadership portion of it. Last year and this upcoming year I'm really excited on the direction that the City's moving and want to keep that going."

Pat Landes was elected to serve as vice mayor.

There were appointments of commissioners to different boards.

--Jeff Underhill was appointed to the Chamber of Commerce Board.

--Pat Landes will be on the Economic Development Advisory Committee.

--Nate Butler will serve on the Military Affairs Council Advisory Committee.

--Ronna Larson was appointed to the Metropolitan Planning Organization.

--Matthew Bea will be on the Flint Hills Regional Council and the aTa Bus board.

Underhill, Larson and Bea took their oaths of office for their new terms on Tuesday evening. Underhill and Larson will serve four year terms while Bea will serve a two year term.
