Community members from McDowell Creek, Junction City, Fort Riley and Manhattan all came together Saturday evening to help support the restoration of St. Joseph’s Historic Church. Geary County Historical Society held the annual Acoustic Junction concert at the church, on McDowell Creek Road, with local musical groups including the Church Ladies, FRMS4, and the Grateful Dudes playing to raise funds for the ongoing restoration of this eastern Geary County landmark.

Funds from previous Acoustic Junction events have helped replace all the windows, install electricity and make repairs to exterior masonry.  Future plans for the church, which was built in 1910, include restoring the interior plaster and flooring.

Those interested in donating to the project can mail checks made out to St. Joseph’s Historic Church to the Geary County Historical Society at 530 N. Adams, Junction City KS 66441.
