The JC Breakfast Optimist Club recognized Janis Curit, a junior at St. Xavier's Catholic Schools, as the Student of the Quarter. Ricardo Gutierrez, coordinator of the club's Student of the Quarter stated that Janis is the President of the Junior Class, President of the Junior Optimist Club, an Eagle Scout, regularly serves for Mass, and raises and lowers the American flag at school among other activities. Janis has a goal of attending West Point following high school graduation.
He received a $25.00 gift certificate from JC's BBQ & Grill and a framed plaque from the Optimists.
Janis is the son of Richard and Inga Curit of Junction City.
