Jean Marie King (Green) passed away on September 9, 2025, at the age of 92, at her home in Junction City Kansas.
Jean was born on March 13, 1933 in Macks Creek, Missouri, to Levi Green and Eda (Parks)Green. Jean married James Eslie King on August 4, 1951 in Evansville, Indiana while Jim was stationed at Camp Breckinridge, Kentucky. They shared 73 years together and were the parents of two sons.
When Jim was stationed in Germany, Jim, Jean and their sons would take trips every chance they were able to, driving to Italy and the Netherlands and attending Oktoberfests.
Jean worked in civil service at Fort Riley, Kansas for many years until she retired. Jean enjoyed gardening, sewing and always had many beautiful flowers in her yard. Jean and Jim purchased a home in Milford, Kansas and enjoyed many summers at Milford Lake on the pontoon boat. There were also many Sunday dinners with the family enjoyed at the house in Milford.
In 1981, Jean planned a trip for she, Jim, Mike, Rodney, Leta, Jasmine and Michelle in the motor home to California and Oregon to visit family. There were other trips in the motor home to Macks Creek, Missouri where they would travel for family reunions.
Jean was preceded in death by Jim on March 29, 2024; her son, James Michael (Mike) King; her daughter-in-law, Leta King; her parents, her brothers, Bill, George, Earl, John and Murel and her sister’s Hilda Yager, Mary Hodge, and Joan Linton.
Jean is survived by her son, Rodney King of Junction City, Kansas; granddaughters, Jasmine Stewart (Mike), Michelle King, and Emily King; her grandson’s Brian and Jeffery; and her great grandchildren, Audrienna Stewart, Alaina Stewart, Colton Stewart and Julian King, all of Junction City, Kansas and her sister, Edna Mae Preciado, of Claremore, Oklahoma.
Jean and Jim lived in Milford, Kansas until 2015 when they moved back to Junction City to be closer to Rodney and Leta and the kids where Jean remained until her passing.
