UPDATE: Rock Creek and Marysville canceled Friday, Mustangs now host Louisburg

ST. GEORGE, Kan. — The Rock Creek High School football team is now without an opponent just over 24 hours from the originally scheduled kickoff. 

The Mustangs were originally scheduled to take on the Marysville Bulldogs Friday night, but now due to a reported cancellation on the side of the Bulldogs, Rock Creek will is in need of a week-three opponent. 

Rock Creek, a class 3A team in the state of Kansas is currently 0-2 on the season with losses to traditional powers Silver Lake and Rossville. 

According to Kpreps, there are currently four other game cancelations for this week, with three of those contests being between 8-man teams. The other, between 1A opponents Sedgwick and Sublette.

Per a report from Tim Everson of the Manhattan Mercury, Rock Creek will now play Louisburg to replace the originally scheduled contest against Marysville. 

According to the report, Mustangs coach Shane Sieben took to social media to arrange the contest shortly after it learned of the original cancellation. 

The game will be played at Rock Creek High School at 7 p.m. Friday night.
